To Overcome AdWords
Monday, May 30th, 2011For some, this makes very good idea to start with Google AdWords palms sweat, knees tremble. The steep learning curve too often results in ineffective campaigns with little return on investment, a big no no for freelancers and small businesses with limited financial resources. And yet, if you use a little time to understand the opportunities that AdWords you can quickly learn to develop campaigns that are both profitable and generate real results.
Start by finding keywords that are used by people looking for your product or service. There are different tools that can help you do this, I personally use the standard AdWords Keyword Research Tool. But remember that this is not 100% correct, and make sure you understand the difference between global and local searches each month. Once you have an idea of the keywords you can use to start thinking about how to structure an advertising campaign directed at the most granular level of control as possible.
For example, if you are a graphic designer based in London, rather than simply creating a generic catch-all group ad in graphic design, you can create separate ad groups for each of the services you offers. At this point, you must also ensure that your campaign is set correctly with respect to geographic targeting, devices and daily budget. It is also interesting to see the announcement extensions available, which should be used where appropriate.
